Finite element Analysis for circular hole castellated steel columns

Abstract: Finite-element analysis by ANSYS, was used in this paper for the study of members under axial compression. These members include circular hole castellated columns with expansion ratio being 1.4 and solid-web steel members without expansion. And bearing capacity for compressive members are obtained. Through comparative analysis, a conclusion can summarized as follows: when the length of members reaches a certain value, bearing capacity of circular hole castellated columns is higher than the original.
